To spend a nice family day on the beach, Travemünde has two beaches to choose from. The two beaches in Travemünde are close together and are only separated by the mouth of the Trave. Both beach sections are characterised by white sand and a wide area for lying and playing. The beaches in Travemünde are less suitable for water sports or parties than for relaxation and a family day.
The Baltic seaside resort Travemünde is on everyone’s lips with beach holidaymakers. The wide sandy beach directly at the mouth of the river leaves nothing to be desired. Thousands of beach chairs, several playgrounds, a sailing school and beach sections for nudists and dogs ensure that every beach guest gets his money’s worth. Along the beach there is a well-developed promenade with many restaurants and cafés.
On the other side of the river mouth is the Priwall beach, an original natural beach for quiet hours. The beach can be reached from Travemünde by a pedestrian ferry. Here it is quieter than at the well-known neighbouring beach. Many locals appreciate the peace and quiet on the beach, which is not so crowded, and like to come there with the whole family..
